BP (NYSE: BP) Joins Hand with Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER) to boost Vehicle Charging in U.S., Europe

In a new agreement unveiled on Friday, BP Plc (NYSE: BP) said it will provide Uber Technologies Inc. (NYSE: UBER) drivers incentives on its electric charging stations. As the Uber stock surges around 1% and Bp Plc shares inches down in pre trading session.

In order to assist the ride-hailing business meet its 2030 emissions objectives, Uber and BP will first work together in important areas including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Australia and New Zealand will next be included, the companies said in a statement.

By 2030 and internationally by 2040, Uber wants to establish a zero-emissions mobility platform in the US, Canada, and Europe. Also, the two businesses would look at collaborating on convenience and fuel deals. BP maintains a network of over 21,000 branded retail locations worldwide. Last year, BP and Uber partnered to make delivery services more accessible to everyone.

Uber (UBER) To Expand Comfort Electric to 14 New Markets

In order to lessen its influence on the environment and transition to a zero-emissions mobility platform, Uber Technologies, Inc. (UBER) aims to extend Comfort Electric, the first all-electric rides option, to 14 new markets in the United States and Canada.

Customers of Comfort Electric may utilize Uber to order a ride in a high-end EV like a Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA), Volvo Automobile AB (OTC: VLVCY), or Ford Motor Co (NYSE: F) Mustang Mach-E. Trips with Uber Green are possible and are the same price as UberX. In more than 55 areas throughout the United States and Canada, Lime e-bikes and e-scooters are accessible through the Uber app.

Uber has pledged to become a zero-emissions mobility platform globally by 2040 and in North America and Europe by 2030. Consumers may use the ecologically friendly transportation in 40 North American markets.

According to TechCrunch, just 4.1% of trip miles in the United States and Canada have been traveled in electric vehicles, whether they are luxurious or not. According to a representative, the cost of Comfort Electric rides often falls between Uber Comfort and Uber Black.
